Our engagement was planned in advance, by us together and was not a surprise. Prior to the day, we discussed and incorporated elements that were important to each of us for the engagement process. On the day of the proposal we went back to the same coffee shop we met on our first date, nearly 3 years ago. Wesley said some very tender words, got down on one knee and presented Malika with a ring we purchased together. Afterwards we walked and biked around the Windy City. Even serendipitously running into a good friend!
